Adrian showed regularly at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition from 1949 onwards, and his works are in the permanent collections of the Tate Gallery, the Victoria and Albert Museum, The National Galleries of Northern Ireland and New Zealand, and in many principal city galleries in England and overseas.
Official purchases include the Chantry Bequest, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the Arts Council of Great Britain, the British Council, the Contemporary Art Society, the Nuffield Foundation, the Sainsbury Trust and the Government Art Collection.
